Purpose of the Contact Mom Ministry

The purpose of the Contact Mom Ministry is to encourage and support families who desire to implement the principles set forth in the Growing Families International parenting curricula. Your role as a Contact Mom will be based on Titus 2:3-5 "Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be dishonored."

CONTACT MOM LEVELS

There are three categories of Contact Moms with various levels in each category.

• Heritage Contact Mom - Ministers to moms with children from birth to five years of age.
• Heirloom Contact Mom - Ministers to moms with children from six to eleven.
• Harvest Contact Mom - Ministers to moms with children from twelve through the teen years, as well as into the adult years if needed.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

For the most part, Contact Moms answer questions by telephone or email from one of three sources:

• National Referral: Calls/Emails that have come into the main office that are redistributed to a Contact Mom from the same area as the caller. Unless specifically requested, all Contact Moms are considered available for national calls.
• Church Referral: Calls referred to you directly from your own church or Contact Mom Coordinator. These calls are usually in concert with, or as a result of, a parenting class. CFH defers specific details in this area to the local church.
• Good Samaritan Referral: Calls from someone who knows you or was helped by you who gives your name to someone else in need of encouragement. This is a vital part of the GEMS^® Ministry...and a compliment to you.

QUALIFICATIONS

We require that a Contact Mom possess the following qualifications and requirements:

• Is a professing Christian with a Christ-honoring lifestyle.
• Is an active member of a local church.
• Supports without reservation the parenting and infant care philosophies, practices, and requirements of the CFH Ministry.
• Has demonstrated a clear and complete understanding of the principles and application associated with the parenting and infant care programs and has consistently been applying those principles in her own family for at least one full year.
• Is willing to receive phone and/or email calls from her church or national referrals to answer parenting questions (a Contact Mom may limit her own availability).
• Is willing to keep a complete and current phone log of all phone conversations of ministry purposes.

Heritage Contact Mom
Level 1 (Birth-2) & Level 2 (3-5)

• Eldest Child is 2 years or older.
• Completed or read Preparation for Parenting.
• Completed Preparation for the Toddler Years.
• Will be in process of completing Growing Kids God´s Way by the time her oldest child is two.
• Will take Reflections of Moral Innocence by the time her eldest child is three.

Heirloom Contact Mom
Level 1 (6-8) & Level 2 (9-11)

• Meets the above criteria
• Has completed Preparation for Adolescence by the time her eldest child is eight.
• Is in the process or has completed Growing Kids God´s Way second time.
• Will be completing Reaching the Heart of Your Teen by the time her eldest child is twelve.

Harvest Contact Mom
Level 1 (12-14), Level 2 (15-18), Level 3-18 & Up)

• Meets all the above criteria
• Supports without reservation the parenting and infant care philosophies, practices, and requirements of the GEMS^® Ministry.
• Has demonstrated a clear and complete understanding of the principles and application associated with the parenting and infant care programs and has consistently been applying those principles in her own family for at least one full year.
• Is willing to receive phone and/or email calls from her church or national referrals to answer parenting questions (a Contact Mom may limit her own availability).
• Is willing to keep a complete and current phone log of all phone conversations of ministry purposes.
